Modern Coal Barn
Once a working structure used to store coal for the railroad, the Salisbury Coal Barn carried a rich industrial history defined by its original chestnut beams, a material no longer available today. In a thoughtful act of preservation and transformation, the original floor beams were carefully removed and milled into custom wood flooring for the client’s home, giving new life to a treasured material. The barn itself was reimagined as a modern office space, where metal siding and clean, contemporary details create a distinctly industrial aesthetic. The result is a compelling blend of past and present that honors the building’s history while serving its new purpose with intention and character.
