Maine Reflection

A short distance up a hill from a quaint northwest Connecticut village, this home sits secluded in the woods with expansive views of a magnificent lake and nearby private school. The home was designed to reflect the original owners’ affection for Bar Harbor and the homes along the coast of Maine utilizing stone, cedar shingles, and a slate roof. The private context is the perfect environment for peaceful family gatherings, outdoor adventures, and quiet reflection.

We were delighted to return to this beautiful hilltop home, over 20 years after originally building it, to reimagine its kitchen for a new generation of owners. The original space was completely demolished and thoughtfully redesigned to meet the clients’ modern needs while honoring the home’s character and setting. All new millwork was custom built in house, allowing for a fully tailored layout, elevated craftsmanship, and seamless functionality. The result is a refreshed, light-filled kitchen that beautifully reflects both the home’s legacy and its contemporary life.
