Since 1957

Since 1957, first as United Steel Erectors, then as United Construction and Engineering, we have prided ourselves on exceptional design, and a dedicated supervisory role for every project to ensure quality control and superb execution. A reputation of expertise, professionalism, and transparency has been a hallmark of our approach for more than 60 years. Much of our loyal staff has worked together for over 15 years, contributing to a strong team culture and highly efficient process.

Kyle Wentland

Owner

Since joining UCE Fine Builders in 2015, Owner Kyle Wentland has played an integral role in the company’s growth and craftsmanship-driven reputation. Beginning as a site supervisor, Kyle worked alongside Jack Baer to establish UCE’s in-house mill shop before advancing into leadership roles as foreman, project manager, and Vice President. With more than two decades of experience in the construction industry and expertise in finish carpentry and millwork, Kyle continues to lead UCE with a hands-on approach, a commitment to quality craftsmanship, and a dedication to exceptional client experiences.

Since our founding in 1957, we have built our reputation on creating comfortable, durable, and extraordinary spaces. We began by specializing in structural and pre-engineered steel buildings and later evolved to provide all aspects of commercial construction/renovation, and civil and structural engineering. Our tradesmen have spent years perfecting their skills and craftsmanship to create these lasting buildings and grounded us as a trusted resource for clients and partners.

In 1994, CEO, Jack Baer, assumed ownership and expanded our practice to include high-end, luxury residential projects. Our rich history demonstrates why we deliver a unique balance of traditional technical expertise and innovative modern architecture design like no other firm. As craftsmen we change and evolve to create spaces of art that bring visions to life.

Since the beginning, personal client connections have been at the heart of our values. Collaborative, responsive, and agile – today we proudly serve the tri-state area. We provide the highest standards of design and craftsmanship to Connecticut, the Hudson Valley of New York, and the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts.
